Wow. Simply amazing speed after 8hrs.

After 8 hrs of downloading at 5kB/s, my connection suddenly shot up to 160kB/s. Which is unheard of here in PGP. Which means something that I was prepared to download for 24hrs will be done in just 30mins. So freakin happy.



I finally get my Heroes fix.

BTW, I thought it was really funny when one uTube user commented this regarding Suresh's 'alliance' with Skylar in regards to the commercial/trailer for the previous few episodes. He actually said "omg why did you team up with skylar and reject peter? YOU INDIAN PROFESSOR YOU!" which was kinda funny (to me) and when I repeated it to xy she couldn't stop laughing.

She also can't stop laughing when I say 'UM-MEHH'. And I'm not using that silly GeGao name anymore coz she says that's what she's calling me so it's exclusive. Wahaha.

I think after every new Harry Potter release they actually release a new boxset compiling the last 2, 3, 4, 5 and now 6 books. Since 7 is coming out, shouldn't they just wait for the 1-7 new boxset release rather than still buy this dua-leng-kong thing and subsequently replace it again with the 1-7 release? I know some people that would if they had picked this up. For me, I've gotten all the 1st Editions (US print) and don't fancy paying more for a cardboard box wraparound. I don't mind paying more for the signed limited editions though and am currently missing book 2 and 6 I think. Book 4 like no such special release. Or maybe it's ultra rare. As the exam date draws nearer, I seem to be wasting time blogging more. Such is the curse of the blog.

On a different note, can someone please tell me how Azureus works? My blue frog jumps up and down when I click him but he's not helping me download anything at all. No other screen comes up. WTF?? How to get to watch my Heroes 19? Especially after YouTube took them down. Fuck.

I get this from my indian neighbour's friends whenever they come over to find him. I don't understand. He's a nice guy and doesn't interfere with my business other than leaving his unwashed pots in the sink and causing them to be maggot-fied over time. But why do his friends have to be so boorish and loud and uncouth?

Unless that's a traditional greeting, I dunno why they have to scream it out so loud every time they come find him cause it's really not nice to be disturbed by a super loud UM--MEHH when one is mugging.

Dick wanted a formal confirmation via email or he wouldn't process my transfer date request. So I give him confirmation plus feedback:

I apologize if this confirmation email came late as I am swamped with my research papers due this week and I just turned in at 6am in the morning so I didn't get your 9am sms until now.

Confirmation:
I'm confirming that my land tour departure date is 15th May 2007 at the price of $578 each with no additional charges for the transfer as agreed via our teleconversation on sat. My total bill will then be $(578 x 2) 1156. I don't know whether that includes the $3 NATAS fair reimbursement. I understand that CDC will contact me 2 weeks prior to departure (approx 1st - 2nd May, i'll call CDC on 3rd May because I'm having exams on 2nd and may not be able to pick up the phone) and notify me whether there are sufficient people to move on that date. Should there be no tour, I will be refunded the money in full after 2-4 weeks or 3-4 weeks. I'm ok with either.

Perhaps I can clarify my predicament better through email as I feel that your good side may not have understood me. I am not an unreasonable customer. Perhaps some background information might help.

I booked the initial tour to depart on the 15th at the NATAS fair with the purpose of extending my stay for a few more nights. However, I could not confirm the number of nights there and then at the NATAS fair. I then made a trip down to a CDC branch and spoke with Viktor whom made it clear that if I were to extend, there is still no guarantee that it would be approved and I would only know 2 weeks prior to departure. Hence there is a possibility that I may not be able to extend, something which I wanted in the first place. Hence, we opted to downgrade to a land tour and because it was done within 3 days of my booking at the NATAS fair (I think it was the 2nd day), there was no fee incurred for the change. He also told me it was possible largely because our tour was not confirmed yet as well. Seeing that we had no constrain in date, I asked if there was an earlier date as we don't mind leaving earlier and he suggested the 14th. After checking the price to be $578 with him, we agreed to change it to the 14th. He told me to call Dick to confirm the next day. I left CDC glad that the staff were helpful and attentive.

When Dick contacted me, he confirmed with me of the change of downgrade and change of date of departure from the 15th to the 14th. I verified that this was so. I then asked him if there was a change in the land tour price. I was told by Ms Neo (the other person taking the land tour with me) that she was also told the same, that land tour no change in price, only air ticket will change. I then asked whether I should go down to sign anything or verify everything at the CDC office as I wanted to make sure everything was fine and there were no problems as I would be very busy after that with my research papers due and my exams coming as well. He said that there was no need and that CDC would send the invoice/itinerary direct to my house. I left it as that and didn't think much of it.

A few days later, I got the invoice/itinerary from CDC in the mail and I was puzzled over the $100 increase in the total bill. My initial reaction to be frank was that 'don't tell me because I didn't go down to verify the numbers with them, they anyhow add $50 per person'? Since it was in the evening, I could only call to ask why there was an 'increase' the next day.

When I called Dick to enquire about the increase in price, he explained to me that my date of departure on the 14th was for the 4*5* band of hotels and not the 3*4* band of hotels which I signed up for in the $578 package. I then told him that my price was $578 as confirmed by Viktor and said I didn't agree with the price of $628. He then checked with his computer system and then said that he had told me the price the day I had my teleconversation with him and hence he updated it into his system, so there was no qualms about his notification to me of the price. I reiterated that what he told me that day was that there was 'no change' in land tour price and I identified that there was a possible miscommunication as he may have been thinking of 'no change' in the $628 price whilst I was thinking of 'no change' in the $578 price and we both did not verbally confirm the numbers with each other. I then told him to please change me to a package with the $578 price. As he said that he had verified the information and price with me before changing my itinerary, any subsequent changes which I propose to make will incurr a $75 fee per pax and $150 fee total for both me and Ms Neo. As this $150 is more than the $100 difference, he advised me to keep the current itinerary. I made my point in that I did not wish to have 'changes' if not for the fact that the price was 'changed'. If he claimed that he had given me the price and I had agreed to it in our first teleconversation, why would I call him up and query him on the extra charges now? By the fact that I called him up, shows that I did not agree to this price of $628 and as I had no prior knowledge of the difference in hotel room standards, I totally have no benefit in claiming why there is a change in price as in my mind, the land tour packages were all the same at $578 (as confirmed by Viktor) and I was 'overcharged' at $628. Dick told me his perspective that it was basically my word against his and he would bring the matter up to his manager and request for the change of date to a $578 package. He then repeated that his system cannot be wrong and he would get back to me. (Do note that I had identified the possible miscommunication during the teleconversation and not him.)


I do understand that the NATAS period was very busy for everyone at CDC. Hence I was prepared to overlook any possible errors/problems that might have occured and spend precious time clarifying them despite my deadlines and exams.

The day after good friday I called him up to check on the status. He acknowledged that Viktor may have given the wrong price to me but said that the company had decided that 'any further changes are subject to the fee of $75 per pax'. I wasn't very convinced because any company when faced with the facts of a present miscommunication as above would actually be moreso inclined to give the benefit of the doubt to the customer and allow the change. Furthermore, it would come down to either a waiver of the $150 fee or the $100 difference and it would not make economical sense to waiver the $100 difference as the changing fee is imposed by the company (paper value) whilst the $100 difference goes towards the actual cost of the higher hotel room rates. I then asked him what he told the manager and he said as a matter of factly that he told the manager about my situation, but it is company policy that they allow customers to change once (which I did, from package to land tour), but any other subsequent changes will be subjected to a fee of $75 per pax. I then asked what exactly did he tell the manager? Whether he told the manager that I wouldn't have wanted a change if not for the miscommunication prior? He told me that he told the manager of my situation, and he told the manager that he had confirmed the price with me before keying it into his computer system, hence his manager said there was a fee to be imposed.

Instead of acknowledging that there might have a genuine miscommunication and telling the manager about it, he actually repeated what he had been telling me all the time: there can be no error on his part and he had verified everything with me before changing my itinerary. This obviously makes me out to be a very unreasonable customer in the eyes of the manager. How can this customer agree to changes and price, then come back and want to change this change that and expect us to waiver the fee whilst giving us more trouble trying to accomodate all the changes? I expect one to be defensive when told that there was a very likely possibility that he forgot to do something (in this case confirm the numbers), but not defensive to the extent in not bringing up the possible case of miscommunication to the manager and instead insisted again that there was no error on his part. This left me feeling that CDC staff weren't that helpful after all.

There is simply no incentive for me to keep changing the dates as immediately after my confirmation of land tour date for the 14th, I had booked my air tickets via Jetstarasia. I don't mind changing to another date as I made it clear that I want the $578 tour. I'm not so free as to worry about my travel plans when I have my papers due and my exams coming. On hindsight, I should have insisted going down to the office to verify everything on the first day.

It's very simple, I just want my price of $578 within my travel period of 13 - 23 May.

After explaining everything to him over the phone again, he agreed to waiver the fee on the account that I submit to him an email as above, stating that I want to change the back to the 15th (initially he told me it couldn't be done as I had changed from the 15th to 14th. i then told him i changed to the 14th because i was given the option but i am flexible on it as my tickets were from 13th May to 23rd May) and that if I required any more changes, I would be subjected to a fee. If the tour fails to move, i would be fully refunded at a later date. I don't mind agreeing to those so as long as both parties are clear on that.

I am sorry that the company had to make the various changes especially in the company's p.o.v., the difference is only $50 per pax ($100 total). The reason why I don't want the $628 tour so much despite it being 'more comfortable' is not just because I didn't sign up for it (the principle), but because the additional $100 goes towards 3 nights of my budget hotel stay (the practical). So do understand that $50 per pax may not be alot for the company and they may wonder why we do not wish to spend $50 more for better accomodation, but from our point of view, a hotel is just to spend the night, so it's not that important to us.

I don't require an apology and certainly don't expect to get one from my unpleasant experience with CDC. However, next time to other customers, do make it a point to verify the prices and details. You can say that you did, but the fact is if you did, I wouldn't have to go through so much trouble now and spend so much time worrying over this whilst I have my deadlines and exams looming. I will however tell my friends and family etc. about my problem with the company and will probably never book another tour with CDC again after this although I do still hope that the 15th tour (if it moves) will not be affected by this incident nor this feedback.

Guess what. The dick from CDC didn't call me. I had to call him to enquire on my tour package. What he told me was, if I had to change the date away from the 14th to any other date, a $75 fee will be incurred. I asked him what he told the manager. He told me (I couldn't believe my ears) that he told the manager I wanted to change date, his colleague may have told me the wrong date, BUT he had told me the price and I had agreed before he input into his computer. I was like. WTF. How fucking stupid are you? Dick was the problem all along for NOT confirming the price with me before booking and yet HE tells the manager that? Of course manager won't let me change la. Bloody cock. I basically told him. Sorry, no. You should have told the manager that you didn't tell me the price, which is why I'm contesting the price now. I don't mind the date. Infact, I changed the date to the 14th because it was recommended to me at the same price. Use your brain dick. After some time, he relented and insisted I type him an email confirmation and allowed me to change to the 15th. Great. I'm gonna CC it to feedback unit. You just wait.

I don't understand how cock he can be. It's just so clear la. If you never cock up, I won't call and ask u why u cock up. Instead of trying to help me coz it's your mistake, you tell me I agreed to it. The fact is if i agree, i won't even call u up to disagree. No logic ley. CDC holy days should still be a decent place to book your tours. But lookout for this dick character. i'm willing to go so far to allow him some leeway for mistake as i'm sure NATAS fair they were all very busy. But trying to push the mistak onto me and make me bear the costs for your mistakes just so you can look good in front of your manager is really pushing it too far.

If the tour guide is gonna give us a problem on the actual trip itself because of dick 'warning' him of 2 gegao people (in actual fact we weren't very ge gao lor. we just want accountability) they can forget about the trip. and instead find a nice letter in the ST.

Because huhuhu censors my post on his blog, i'm going to reply to him here.

Very short and simple replies here. If huhuhu is not Johnson Tan, the 'guy' that added xy to his msn again after being blocked, he wouldn't know about the skirt chaser nick she has on msn because (i) huhuhu is blocked and (ii) Johnson Tan is not.

And yeah, if he keeps on putting mindless accusations on his blog, don't worry. it'll all blow up in his face too. We're not crazy Mr Koh, you are. You're a sick individual, get some help. You're unpopular because you made yourself unpopular. Stop blaming others for it. You Bush you.

Finally I updated my blog... with new skins and new posts in anticipation for the upcoming Spiderman 3!! (duh) I must say the trailers are to die for. Especially the recent newer ones focusing more on Venom. I swear I am so going to orgas in the cinema on May 2nd. (Sigh, May 2nd because got paper on May 2nd so cannot go on May 1st... Dammit!)

On a less stickier note, the ge gao master strikes back! Today, he shall complain about more ge gao things. Actually not so ge gao but more of I sway kenna this kind of stoopid people in stoopid situations. That concern money la of course.

I helpch xy order clothes from this online shop called alibaba (name changed for obvious ge gao reasons), she ordered 33-40 pieces of clothings (it's a spree!) and then hor, we painstakingly confirmed with them which clothes were instock before transferring the money to them (they are in korea!), then hor, we decided to wait 1 week coz 1 red dress we bought for lindy hadn't come yet. (yes people, april bday ppl are going to get dresses from me) so hor so hor, the day before we send the money hor, we confirm online like 35 pieces in stock (including added orders) so next day we send the money. then hor, we wait 1 week. eh. how come they havent notified us of items being shipped? or confirm with us anything before shipping? nevermind. i think near end of 1 week we finally got the seller on msn (one of the only staff in the company that can speak engrish) and asked her. she say shipped already. like 2 days ago. so should come soon. but some stuff out of stock, so refund us some money. we also lan lan. in the end shipped 30 pcs. or so she say. when goods finally came, not 30 pcs lor. 29 pcs! waaa i so gegao. i was like waaaaaa. u all dare to cheat our money arh. so we of coz try to contact her again la. wa. msn her for 4hrs only reply one sentence one. damn jialat. near to 1 week after receiving the goods, we still dun have refund nor hear about how they were going to settle the missing pc. first make sum excuse abt paypal, say no money inside to refund. then after that tell me that for my missing pc, i have to pay $20 sgd more shipping just to ship 1 pc. i was pissed la. like your company fked up the order still wan me to pay money. and i bombard her with 3 qns only she also take forever to reply. until i fed up, msn the lao da in the company. using my negotiating skills honed over the years (wahahhaha.. thick skin anyhow say one... dunch vomit blood prease), i told her it's unreasonable for the company to make me pay for their mistake basically and i do want my refunds back since it's been over a week plus since i received the goods. so finally after much hoohah of which time was supposed to be spent on my research papers, i finally got the refund today. weird thing is, she got someone from singapore to paypal me the refund. i have to take it out of paypal soon in case she revokes the transaction. once i take it out, paypal cannot revoke it coz then it'll be monies had and received! hurhurhur. dunch play play. At least that one is settled. For now. if they reverse transaction then i gonna gegao again!!!

GeGao situation #2 Hu? Hu? Hu? Hu?

You think i'm gonna blog about huhuhu arh? whahaha. no lor. he is how insignificant can? don't wanna waste my time blogging about him. coz i dun gegao him. he thinks everyone is plotting against him budden he dun understand that nobody is doing anything becoz WE CAN'T BE BOTHERED WITH HIM. so cock rite. nobody wants anything to do with him and yet he thinks otherwise. anything he gets in the future he rightly deserves sia. i think i heard some girls sent emails to MOE with links to his blog and details of his terrorizing acts in bid to save their children from suffering the same fate. PS: he wants to teach JC girls. not pri or sec sch but JC girls. Save your children! but that's hearsay la, and for all you know may just be contemplation by the girls or totally made up (READ: other girls, not xy, she or me don't have so much time to write letter to MOE, simply because u haven't pissed us off enough yet to do so - unlike the GeGao situation below). but seriously, i find it laughable that he is attempting to extract an apology from xy. it's like your reputation damaged? since when u got reputation? anything u damage is yourself your own actions damage one lor. don't blame other people coz u're screwed up right? oh well. i say not blogging about him yet i write so much. muahahhaha. GeGao situation #2.0.1 Communicable Disease Centre Holy Days

timeline: book tour - went down to change tour details/option to extend/change to land tour - first call received regarding confirmation change of date - call by me regarding costs - call to xy saying no extra costs - received inflated invoice - new call by me ge gaoing increase in price.

This is bigger than huhuhu. and involves approximately the same amount of money as the previous one. me and xy despite my hectic research paper schedule went down to NATAS fair recently and even though i was researching a paper and wanted to go back early to skool on sunday, i went down to book our trip from CDC tours on sunday evening. damn alot of ppl. but we got our package at $823. the tour package wasn't THAT attractive if you consider the fact that first day is wasted as we reach late and last day is wasted as we leave at 7 in the morning. so we told the person, we want to extend. just dunno the number of days yet. she say no prob, within 3 days go to any branch can extend. so we went to a branch to extend and was told by viktor at the branch that can extend, but they will only contact us 14 days before departure and not guaranteed. so we're like wtf. no guarantee how we book hotel and make arrangements and what not. coz we CONFIRM want to extend, so if in the end CANNOT extend then no point rite? so we opted to downgrade our tour package to land tour only $578 departs on 15th May. they say due to our special circumstances (we came within 3 days, and our tour not filled yet) they should be able to waiver the changing fee of $75 per pax. so we asked if there were earlier departure dates. they say got 14th. i specifically asked the person (viktoR!) to double check the price for me and it was $578 as well. so i say okay. we change to that date. 14th. somewhat the next day or so, the actual person in charge of our tour, Dick, called and confirmed my change of date. i said yeah, 14th, land tour only. i specifically asked if there was a change in price, he said no. so i took it no change. xy also picked up his call and specifically asked if the price was different from the one quoted at natas fairand he also said no, land tour where got change in price one. imagine my surprise when i got the bill from CDC and it was $100 more. immediately i flipped la. my first impression was, KNN. tell me no change in price, no fee for changing dates and downgrade, then u sneaky sneaky try to be funny? i got pissed la, and so i called him up today and asked wtf was going on. imagine my surprise when he said 'i told you got difference in price before i confirm with you, my computer say so' i was like cock la. computer u type one, im implying u screw up u tell me u didn't coz ur computer say so. that's how dumb a reason can? furthermore, if i agreed on ur price, i won't be calling u now to kaopek rite? nabei. as thick as huhuhu sia. it's just so simple that he can't see it. he insisted that he was right. (whatever happened to customer was always right?) i told him to consider this:

1) my point again, if he told me the price, i won't be contesting it now

2) when i called him and b4 he tell me the price increase was due to hotel * difference, i was under the assumption that it was the same * hotel. so my intention was never to skive on the price but rather to find out why there was a price increase and tell him that i didn't agree to it.

3) i had confirmed with viktor that is was $578

what he told me which infuriated me was:

1) customer within 3 days make 1 change foc. after that $75 fee applies.

2) he cannot be wrong. must be i wrong. coz he cannot have typed in he told me the price when he didn't. computer system never wrong.

3) basically it was my word against his, and he repeated that he MUST have told me the price change

so i said:

1) well, there was prob a miscom in that i asked him land tour the same price? he say no change. xy asked him land tour the same price? he say land tour same price, standard, no change, only air ticket change. to him, it was the more ex price all along coz of the hotel, but still no change. but to me, i didn't know that. i asked if there was a change with my 578 price in mind so logically the miscom could have arisen there. note that HE didn't suggest this but rather ME that did.

2) i don't buy the $75 fee because the fact is he screwed up, or i wouldn't have called in the first place. so don't come telling me fee applies for changes because i wouldn't make that change if not for YOUR mistake dick.

3) he could have honestly made the mistake in updating into the com based on the miscom scenario above, and i forgive him. so pls help me out.

of course he went on the defensive:

1) he defended that he would never update or change the package without the client consent and after telling client terms and all.

2) he stupidly repeated then that any changes i wanna make are subjected to $75 fee per pax, and told me to just keep my current package because i would pay $150 to make changes when my total is just a $100 difference.

Of course i also not happy la. not because he stubborn. i mean DUH. wtf i call u to kaopek for if i agreed to ur terms rite? now i got impression CDC like to anyhow cut ppl thanks to idiots like him.

1) i said take into consideration my circumstances, there is no point in me contesting this if he had done his job.

2) hence i will not want to pay the change in fee if any and i requested that he do something about it.

He obviously found no point in talking to me because i am not an auntie or uncle that he can just dismiss. so he put me off the phone with:

1) he will ask management to waiver the $75 change

2) he can TRY to change to 15 or 17 which are the 578 price

3) failing which i HAVE to take the more expensive price

Damn CB rite? want to take my money still give me attitude. I say

1) try to waiver the $75 fee per person (total 150)

2) or simplier, waiver the $100 fee coz its your fault in the first place

3) change the tour date

I seriously don't want to tour with them anymore because of this cock up. i mean think about it la. to ur company $100 u also ge gao. ur fault already just bloody well suck it up and be professional. $100 to me = 3 days of budget hotel stay. so obviously i ge gao rite. i hope he changes the tour date to 17th and failing to get a full tour, cancel it. i'd rather get all my money back please. dont want to let them earn a single cent.

He just doesn't understand the idea that if i agreed to his terms and conditions, i wouldn't have called to ge gao. just like huhuhu. if there's nothing wrong, people won't say. there's simply no incentive to make things up. think we very free is it? got exams coming ley. cock. mostly likely he'll go bluff his management that

He hasn't called back yet. he scoffed even when i said ask management to waiver the $100 difference. but it's practical mah. waiver $150 or $100. from my perspective that's how we solve problems. like if my buyer buys a toy w/o a gun, i'd have to open a new one just to send him the gun. i'm supposed to solve the problem. if i buy ur tour package and there's a problem, u jolly well try to solve my problem instead of telling me "it's your problem".

my impression from viktor was that CDC was an efficient company that valued their customers and were willing to help them solve their problems. my impression from dick is that CDC is a company that shortchanges their customers and hides costs from unsuspecting customers. i am not an auntie. i check my bills thankyewverymuch. summore i recall specifically when i asked him to return my call about costs of the package, he didn't actually say the amount... very dubious.

I'll wait a day or two for his reply. if no reply, it'll start with a letter to CDC. then a latter to straits times.
